Nowhere really, just busy here, but not really doing anything. I have actually had this window opened a few days now and I am just now getting here to post.
I got a call on Wednesday that Colton got into Pre-School. He was on a waiting list, but it was apparently a pretty short one cause he is going to be starting on November 1. I think he is excited right now, but when it comes time to actually go that will probably be another story! So we'll just have to see how that goes. It's only from 12-3 in the afternoons, but it is 5 days a week. I think it's just what he needs to get him comfortable around other people and get him ready for Kindergarten next year.
We got the kids Halloween costumes this week. Originally Dillon was going to be Spiderman and Colton was going to be a Skeleton, but we got the last Skeleton costume and it was too small for Colton, so they switched. Hopefully Dillon won't change his mind at the last minute and trow a fit cause he wants to be Spiderman. Bailey is going to be a black cat. I got her a black leotard, black tights and a headband with cat ears on it. I was trying to figure out how to do the tail and I ended up getting a black boa and I am going to have to figure out how to make that into a tail.
I have been buying art supplies at Michaels the past few weeks. Yesterday I got a tabletop easel, a canvas and some oil pastels. I have also gotten some acrylic and watercolor paints. I don't know I am really inspired to paint something, but I don't really know where to start. I am sure it will come to me though! Here is a layout I did for the dare this week about it.
How's that for a title?? So I am wondering why you post your layouts in the galleries? Do you post in lots of galleries? Do you post to get praise or for CT requirements? I am just curious. I have posted nearly all my layouts since I started digi scrapping almost 2 years ago. I started out posting at TDC and posted there and a few other random galleries until DST opened and then I stopped posting in all the other galleries until MSA opened a few months ago. I have serious issues getting into DST now, it's been happening since we moved and I think it has something to do with my ISP. Sometimes I can get in sometimes it will take way to long to open for me. I have been posting all my layouts at MSA and now I am posting my CT layouts for Jen and Michelle at SBG since that is the store they both sell at. I am getting to the point now where I care less and less about the praise too. It's like at first I needed the validation of praise and I played the praise game at DST nearly every day, as long as I had a layout, but I got to the point where all the posts about the praise game were just getting annoying. People getting on and complaining that the person who posted after them didn't leave them praise, blah, blah. Who cares? I do agree that if you want to "play the game" you should follow the rules, but come on already. I leave genuine praise for the layouts that I click on and truly love, but I don't feel compelled to leave praise if it's not something that moves me, you know? So, with all that said, I was looking through my gallery at MSA and notice that since I have not been playing the Pass the Praise game there I am getting next to no comments on my layouts and you know what? That's fine with me! I am finally at a place where I don't need the praise to feel like I created a beautiful layout. So my answer is I share my layouts because I want to post them for my friends and family to see, not for the praise (at least not anymore!).
Bailey and I started watercoloring our Art Journals yesterday. We will probably be able to do an actual page tomorrow if Jake will find something to occupy the boys. I also have a few pictures of my first pages in my "Wreck This Journal". This is going to be a fun project too!
Assignment #1: Crack the Spine
I couldn't just leave that one burned, I had to add paint and a little journaling!
I am going to wrap this up now. Here are the 2 layouts I have been hanging on to. Both were done with Jen's new Template collection #21.
Oh, and I almost forgot, with the help of a tech from BleepingComputer.com, I was able to get my computer all fixed. It only took 2 weeks, but I am so glad it is completely free of viruses, trojans and spyware.
Have a great weekend!!
I have been tossing around the idea of starting an Art Journal and I don't know how good I will be at it, but I am going to give it a go. I was searching online and found this website, via Donna Downey's blog. It details how to put together a journal, so I made 2! One for me and one for Bailey. I had to use what I had rather than alot of the stuff that she used, but I ended up with a couple of very pretty books. Here is a peek at the book while it is still empty. The flowery one is mine and the pink and green is Bailey's.
I don't have too much else today. I have 2 layouts, but I am going to save them for tomorrow since I already have so many pictures in this post.
Have a great evening!
